Kevin Lewis Named LARC Executive Director

The Board of Directors of LARC, Inc., (Lee County Association of Remarkable Citizens) has announced the appointment of Kevin B. Lewis as their new Executive Director effective February 1st. Lewis succeeds Roger Bradley, who retired January 31st after a 31-year career with LARC.

LARC has been providing a range of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families since 1954 and receives support from Lee County and the United Way in addition to state and federal funding.  The agency serves over 300 clients at two sites in Lee County, along with two residential homes and a variety of community based services.

Lewis has a successful history of non-profit leadership, having served as the Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS) for 20 years and leading the effort to create SalusCare, Inc. by merging SWFAS and Lee Mental Health in 2013.   Lewis served as Chief Executive Officer of SalusCare during its first two years.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with and lead the staff of LARC, an experienced and talented group of professionals with a focus on client care that is unsurpassed,” said Lewis.  “It’s a privilege to help individuals and families maximize their abilities to achieve the highest level of satisfaction with their lives and community involvement – not unlike most of us who seek similar goals.”

Lewis’ work has led to recognition including the 2007 Paulette Burton Lee County Citizen of the Year, the TrailBlazer of the Year from The News Press Media Group in 2013, a National Points of Light Award in 2014, the Liberty Bell Award from the Lee County Bar Society and the Distinguished Layperson Award from the Lee County Medical Society – both in 2015.

“The Board is extremely pleased to have Kevin as Executive Director,” said Pete D’Alessandro, LARC Board President. “We look forward to LARC’s growth under Kevin’s leadership as we continue to evolve and meet the changing needs of clients, families and the community in future years.”

A graduate of the Florida State University School of Social Work, Kevin is a member and past President of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers. Lewis also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee counties, Central Florida Behavioral Health Network and GoodWill Industries of Southwest Florida.

Lewis and his wife Renee live in San Carlos Park.
