Today is GivingTuesday. 

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Since its creation in 2012, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

This year has been particularly challenging, and Hurricane Ian dealt a devastating blow, taking away one of our cherished group homes. However, in adversity, the LARC spirit shines brighter than ever.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join hands with us in a cause that goes beyond the ordinary – rebuilding a home that holds the hearts of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The storm may have taken away bricks and mortar, but it couldn’t diminish the spirit and love that fills our LARC homes.

The home is now under construction, with an estimated completion date of April 2024. The walls are up, and the trusses are ready to be installed! Our residents, currently living in a rental home, are excited to watch the progress of their new home.

This home will stand as a testament to the unwavering support of our community. We’ve faced setbacks, and the rebuilding costs exceed the resources from insurance and the sale of the previous property. To complete the construction of the new home, we are actively fundraising, aiming to secure $200,000.
